14. Ideology should not be in the mix where this seat is concered.
Judges are mediators in matters of law. The last thing I want is a judge with a specific "ideology". They need to be dispassionate and willing to put their personal beliefs aside in the rulings. To that point, your OP suggest that the next judge should have some "ideology" that somehow will influence their interpretation of the law. That's BS.

Judges needs to "judge" on the current law of the land. If we don't like said law, then work to get it changed. But for crying out loud, don't wish for judges that use their personal bias as a basis for interpretation. That is disastrous for all of us.

Peace,
MZr7

11. I like your criteria and
there are a number of outstanding women who meet most of your criteria (perhaps not lesbian or atheist) and also have outstanding legal qualifications and experience. Some real scholars of the law and deeply committed to the constitution. Some of the lists appearing on other posts demonstrate just how many excellent women are available with outstanding credentials --also opportunity for racial, ethnic diversity.

I say screw the Republicans, we have the votes and we know what we need.

He's just playing a character, and he's not a real person.

So, in all seriousness then...

Dr. Daniel Jackson.
