It’s past time to recognize that Republicans are our dangerous enemies.
Can anyone really argue that during the eight years of Bush/Cheney, America was not owned, ruled and run by corporate fascism?

For almost 30 years, (since the day St. Ronnie took office), Republicans have treated greed as a virtue and democracy as a curse. Their motto might as well have been “any concept of fairness is something that only idiots believe in.”

In 1980 America had a thriving middle class with money in the bank, decent homes on which they could pay the mortgages, plenty of good jobs, unions to help protect their jobs and their rights, and savings plans and pensions that ensured a secure retirement.

So for anyone who still buys the crap the Republicans are peddling, where are your savings plans? Where are your pensions? Where is your safe retirement?

Democratic politicians are no saints. But everything I’ve mentioned here comprise the core principles of the Democratic Party. It’s why we vote for them.

Republicans on the other hand, couldn’t care less whether you eat or starve, thrive or suffer, live or die. And if that sounds harsh, all you need to do is take a look at their beliefs, policies and their voting records. Better yet, think about New Orleans after Katrina. Think about V.A. hospitals that were allowed to become rat infested sewers. And think about the countless unemployed people living in tents near our cities big and small.

We are living in a perverted Republican version of America. Obama is doing his best to fix it and they are doing everything possible to block him. They attack him (and us) every single hour of every single day.

The Republican Party is a clear and present danger to the health, well being and survival of the majority of Americans. It’s past time for everyone to understand this.

2. And in a close second place: Dems who provided an assist.
I agree with everything said, but we can't forget that the Dems are nothing but whores to big business and thus assisted Repukes at EVERY turn. In fact they did control congress during Reagan. During Carter, they started deregulation: that's why the teamsters voted against Carter. Clinton was the president who signed legislation that helped the banksters wipe out our economy. The Dems immoraly voted for Bush's war. We can't turn a blind eye to the assistance that Dems gave!

Now we watch in horror as congress has done NOTHING to help the American people while doing everything to help the biggest crooks in the history of humanity: banksters.

Colorado's Dems provide an important lesson. In their first year of complete control of the state's government they too did NOTHING to help regular Coloradoans. The next year? There was a crisis so they put their hands in our pockets and took what little cash we had left after corporations stole the rest from our 401ks. They've even worked to give business better tax rates. FU Colorado Democrats. There were opportunites: they could have outlawed 300% interest rates on payday loans. They didn't. Now it's our turn. Good riddence to the "helpful" Demorats. The honeymoon and once-in-a-lifetime opportunities for Dems is coming to an end. Enjoy.

3. It's hard to argue with much of what you say.
Nonetheless, the current reality gives us two choices: Democrats treating us badly, or Republicans treating us like cattle to provide them with filet mignons.

I wish there was a third choice -- and a fourth, fifth and sixth. But given where we currently are, we have to treat Republicans as deadly enemies and treat Dems as politicians who can be coerced into giving us a better shot at living in a somewhat decent world.

4. The GOP is an apocalyptic suicide cult
Edited on Thu May-07-09 11:41 AM by niceypoo
They are a religious cult, a bastardization of christianity, where money has replaced God.

They orgasm at the thought of an apocalyptic end to humanity, and their views on such things as global warming and the use of nuclear weapons and Israel reflect that end.

They are beyond dangerous, they are suicide cult.

7. I know what you're driving at, but things really haven't changed, and won't if people remain passive
