* We pay for the health care of Cheney, McCain and other politicians who then turn around and say that WE shouldn't have the same health care that they get.

* Only 2 types of people get universal health care here in America, people in prisons and the politicians in the first point.

* In our current age of epidemics and the fear of epidemics, people sometimes talk about mandatory quarantines and implementing martial law, but nobody ever talks about universal access to antibiotics, preventative medicine, etc.

* We say we don't want to mess up the doctor-patient relationship when we don't want to talk about universal health care, but health care for many Americans is NOT that relationship, but rather the doctor-patient-insurance company relationship, and we often forget about that third part when we talk about it.

1. They tell us we should not have socialistic medicine, but that's what they and the military have. nt

2. 3 types
People who are eligible to use the VA (military and veterans). Although there are horror stories out there, my mother always got top notch care from the VA, and they even provided transportation.
And not to be picky, but it's the doctor-INSURANCE COMPANY-patient relationship.
