you all know this is Republican speak, don't you? You do not save by spending more and saying you saved using hypothetical numbers (healthcare).

1. Yeah, it's all for the brain dead masses.
Our costs are going up 2 percent this year, but we're going to say they're going up 7 percent and then we're going to cut back to 5 percent and save everyone big bucks.

I mean...$2,500 for a family in 5 years...really...who are they kidding?

It's an insult to people who think for themselves.

2. Using hypothetical numbers which may or may not happen
or be reality based, one can create their own reality.

3. Not just
Republicans, almost all government does it that way.. Normal budget numbers are predicted at one point then they come back a month or so later and tell us that they cut their estimated budget by X amount therefor "saving" that much when in reality the budget will be millions higher than the previous one but not as high as the estimate therefor saving all that money. Smoke and mirrors Business a usual. This medical insurance "cut in costs" saves the industry money but says nothing about increasing accessibility to health insurance for anyone that I can see.

5. You're correct.
And all this is is a give away to the insurance companies in exchange for a promise they will keep their annual increases lower. It quite frankly is bullshit wrapped in a bow called reform.

4. It's pathetic. But it is great that people are paying attention and are
recognizing it as a complete snow job.
