California state pageant director resigns
Edited on Wed May-13-09 03:05 PM by Liberal_in_LA
Just one day after learning that Carrie Prejean will keep her Miss California crown, state pageant director Shanna Moakler resigned.

According to a report in Us magazine, the co-pageant director and former Miss USA said it was “in her best interest to resign.”

"I cannot with a clear conscious move forward supporting and promoting the Miss Universe Organization when I no longer believe in it, or the contracts I signed committing myself as a youth," she said. "I want to be a role model for young with high hopes of pageantry, but now feel it more important to be a role model for my children. I am sorry and hope I have not let any young supporters down but wish them the best of luck in fulfilling their dreams."

Prejean was named first runner-up at the April 19 pageant, during which she cause a firestorm by responding to a judge's question by saying she favored limiting marriage to a man and a woman.

1. Trump is an asshole
I'd love it if most of the organization nationwide resigned.

8. Fake hair, fake breasts, fake made up faces, fake people.
WTF is up with the whole thing anyway?

When these things started, which as I believe was an innocent parade of beauties at Atlantic City, it was a celebration of youthful vibrant female in spring sort of stuff. It has become so artificial they might as well just Photoshop the girls and animate them with computers. Although that might improve the intelligence of the answers to their questions, so don't rule that out!

11. I Like When Jon Stewart
juxtaposed some of the pictures that got her in trouble with a clip of her mandatory swimsuit competition at the pageant. What's the difference again?

16. Way to go Shanna!
The whole pageant thing has become creepy.

Trump's declaration of self-importance should be enough to bring this whole thing down. Watching him, I was embarrassed for anyone who had anything to do with this.
