Is Glenn Beck dangerous Agitprop?
Edited on Wed May-13-09 03:32 PM by Revolution9

Agitprop (Russian;) is a portmanteau of agitation and propaganda.<1> The term originated in Bolshevist Russia (the future Soviet Union), where the term was a shortened form of (otdel agitatsii i propagandy), i.e., Department for Agitation and Propaganda, which was part of the Central and regional committees of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union. The department was later renamed Ideological Department.

Case and point. Glenn Beck. Oh how I told myself i would never pen or type so much a letter about that vile, insane little troll. Each night this man shills his self out to a sort of Andy Kaufman-esque routine of topping his already hyperventilating propaganda. Night after night he zooms past sanity at the speed of stupid and portrays the current administration as some sort of Fascist movement. With a blue screen projector behind him, films of Ben Bernanke roll with a grainy sepia colour reserved for old Hitler speeches. The gimmick is alive as it begins to pump red-meat,conservative agitprop to the loyal listener/watcher. They(the loyal viewer) gazes in awe.

To the folks of my country, please stop. If you are watching this man only for the sheer entertainment value that his inevitable public self-implosion will bring, then I applaud you. On the other hand, if you are watching this obscene version of goat-boy play out his philosopher fantasies and eating it up drop for drop, then my Friend, you must be given help.

In the course of the last few weeks there have been a rash of mass shootings and strange oddities occurring across the country. I will address that in a minute. The things they all seem to have in common is Glenn Beck. Now I know what you are thinking dear reader. You are thinking "now wait a minute that is quite a stretch". Perhaps so. At face value. Dig a little deeper and you will see a picture painted. The ideas of Glenn Beck and the delusion he wallows in, are not isolated to his own personal insanity. You see many bat-shit-crazy people agree with him. To this I say to them "by golly old chap, you are most certainly baby-punching crazy". The madness that is.......I don't even know what to call it,nationalism/fascism?!? It is all tied to the "meme". That is what this guy represents. The meme being, grab your guns "they" are coming to take away your money and you guns, then make your children atheists. "Revolt and rise up!", says the leprechaun, aided by his comrade in the militia movement Congresswoman Bach mann (R-totally out of her mind).A dangerous kettle of hate and stupid and being mixed with a dash of guns. Not a stew Uncle Sam wants to chow down on. The meme is getting bigger and unlike the "tea-baggers"* these guys are actually armed and dangerous(as seen in pittsburgh recently). The powder-keg of lunacy and stupidity may just explode. We will just have to see.

1. Personally, I think we should encourage
Beck and Michelle Backdoorman to rant on and on, until their rants show them for what they are to all sensible people. Let them drag the GOP down with them.

2. Glenn Beck is a half-bright, borderline insane assclown with delusions of relevance

3. Glen Beck is one of those people...
whose presence or visage disturbs me to a degree that I have to terminate contact. Charles Manson and George W. Bush are also in this category. I'd rather be in a room with putrefied entrails of dead goats.

5. I never thought even Fox would ever dip so low ...
--well Hannity-- but I had watched Beck on the Nasty DisGrace channel.

Now Beck has a bigger podium and is even more batshit insane. Some people have a real weakness for his dangerous spew.

Please Gawd bring back real journalism instead of infotainment news. We are largely a nation of the Stupids.

That is our ever-present real danger.

Please Gawd bring back a real GOP rather than craziness. Let us be a modern western industrial society. You know I will even vote GOP on occasion given the choice.

Beck crosses the border of incitement IMO. Please Gawd take him home.

Amen.
