May 15 Is National “Endangered Species Day”

At one time during the Reagan psychosis, Democrats were an endangered species. Jimmy Carter doesn't look so bad now, does he?

On Wednesday, the US Senate passed a bipartisan resolution designating May 15, 2009 as the fourth annual "Endangered Species Day." The resolution was proposed by Maine Senator Susan Collins and Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) and cosponsored by several Senate members from across the country; its purpose is to promote the ongoing protection of endangered species and educate the public about threats to the environment.
“The designation of Endangered Species Day will provide many wonderful opportunities for Americans to familiarize themselves with the status and recovery efforts of endangered species in our own country and around the world, including such magnificent species as the polar bear,” said Senator Feinstein.
