FTC sues to halt warranty 'robo-calls'
WASHINGTON - Federal regulators are filing suits against several companies they say are behind a national wave of spam "robo-calls" that warn people their auto warranties are expiring and offer new service plans.

The Federal Trade Commission says it has asked a federal court in Chicago to halt the illegal telemarketing campaign of "Your Car Warranty Has Expired." Officials say as many as 1 billion of the nuisance calls have been made to Americans.

The FTC named Voice Touch Inc. and Transcontinental Warranty Inc. in the suits. It is seeking injunctions forcing them to return allegedly ill-gotten gains.

Everyone call these fucks and harass them back.

4. Now if they'll only stop the credit card scam calls
the ones where an oh so helpful person offers to lower your interest rate and magically make everything just fine in the garden for a small fee.

I wish they'd refine the damn robo call list. I haven't had a credit card since 1991.

5. i am wondering though, because i have seen another commercial for a warranty
that sounds the same but a differently named company...i am wondering if they are anticipating this and opening another company so that they can continue their bs. i know, i am probably wrong....but i just have this cynical feeling.

6. Anyone have access to a fax machine??
Send'em a "Black Fax"

Fax Support: 354-776-3367

I would say, about 500 pages of "black construction paper" would do the trick...

7. So the last call I got ...
which claimed to be the very last time they were going to offer ...

Even though the previous calls claimed to be the very last time they were going to offer ...

But this might have been really the very last time they were going to offer ....

Please, may I have one more chance, one more last, and I mean really last, offer, please ...

Hey Warrantee guys, the best time to call is when I'm halfway done with dinner - really.

:hi:

8. Take a little time and waste a lot of theirs
Once you get to a live person, begin asking questions:

What is your full name?

What is your company's name?

What is your supervisor's name?

Where are you located?

Is your company a corporation? What state is it incorporated in?

What is your full name?

What is your company's name?

* * *

You probably won't have to go past the third question before they'll give up.

9. I have 2 or three calls a day from these
people. When they say press 1 to speak to a real person I ask them to please take my number off their list. Each call ends with this is the last notice you will receive. I suppose it is the last notice I will receive this hour. I have had about 50 "last" notices. I have already been to donotcall.gov.

11. I get them at work, and I cannot begin to tell you the fun I have with them
Depending on my mood (and the accent I choose and car I "own") it is a good time for all who are listening. They don't like to be put on speakerphone though, oh no.

12. Only one billion calls?
I've had way more than my fair share, then. Bastards.

I press one, wait to hear a person speak and then blow a police whistle right into the mike.
