SC legislator wants to exclude gays from teen dating violence bill
Leave it to the South Carolina Legislature to shock my system this morning:

A bill, sponsored by Rep. Joan Brady, R-Richland, would require school districts to send home information or include in their student handbooks information about teen dating violence — including how to recognize whether a student is in an abusive relationship and where to go for help.

According to a 2007 state Department of Education survey, nearly 14 percent of S.C. students reported being “hit, slapped or physically hurt on purpose by their boyfriend or girlfriend” in the previous 12 months.

So far so good. It sounds like a productive idea. But then comes the shock:

The bill hit an unexpected roadblock Wednesday when Rep. Greg Delleney, R-Chester, introduced an amendment requiring the material to address only heterosexual relationships.

“I don’t want the Department of Education or school districts to teach children in grades six through 12 about (same-sex) relationships,” Delleney said.

2. Being a bigot is not for the lazy
There are soooo many things to think about all the time. It's not enough to hate teh gay, you have to be on guard constantly for any oversight that could allow them to slip through the cracks. It was Jesus’ big mistake, after all. When he spouting off stuff about love and respect, he was forever forgetting to say, “except for the faggots,” almost as if he didn't care one way or the other about sexual orientation. So the task has been left to poor Mr. Delleney, but he’s just one man. So everyone! Fight teh gay menace, and be sure to write an exclusion for gay people into every law and every policy pronouncement.

Hopefully, the next time God sends a messiah, he won’t be quite such a lazybones and will really spell it out so that folks like Mr. Delleney don’t have to work so hard.

3. Oooookay...so will it say something like...
"If you are in an abusive relationship, you don't have to tolerate it. You should report your abusive boyfriend or girlfriend. Unless, of course, you're one of those HOMOSEXUALS. In that case, it's your own fault and you brought it upon yourself by defiling the LORD's Word...so deal with it."
