1. Nah! It didn't involve sodomizing children or raping women...
It looked like just a plain ol' American-style summary execution.

2. This idea that withholding anything will prevent anyone in the ME
Edited on Thu May-14-09 04:53 PM by ThomCat
from hating us is self-delusion as best. There is more than enough evidence out there for people throughout the Middle East to hate the US, including the Obama administration. This video and many others are out there.

Withholding this or that will make it worse, not better, because it confirms that we're untrustworthy and don't believe in being accountable to our own laws. :(

The real reason to withhold those photos, I think, is to manage anger WITHIN the US. It is prevent even more people HERE from getting up and demanding immediate prosecutions up to higher levels.

Obama has consistently said he wants to sweep this all under the rug of history and let it disappear. He wants people in the US to forget and go back to sleep, dreaming that we're a moral and righteous nation.

3. Makes no difference either way.
They hate us very very deeply from before 9/11. Much like Israel the US will never ever be able to do any right. I find it hard to believe that anybody, even freepers, could think we could ever win hearts and minds of those people in that part of the world. Giving up Israel is the only way to assuage their hatred of us as it is our support of Israel that has earned their contempt.

4. From Spike? That's odd.
The video isn't really clear. We don't see from the shooting Marine's pov. The guy could have had a gun or grenade. Wounded and dead bodies are often booby-trapped. This might be justifiable, if it's not the Marine deserves prison and a dishonorable discharge.
