memory test
how many organizations can you name that admitted (prior to public disclosure) that they endangered the public through their actions and the public needs to be dubious whenever dealing with them?

How many times did the Catholic Church confess child abuse before specific abusers were exposed?
How frequently do the police departments admitted abuse of prisoners/power when its not caught on video?
How many times have you heard of a medical professional kicked out before egregious malpractice was evident?
How many of the architects of the financial disaster have stood up and said mea culpa, please take my worldly goods I should be held accountable?

If you're like me, you've absorbed the fact that large organizations are very good at protecting themselves and most especially the bureaucrats in large organizations are especially skilled at protecting themselves.

When a whiny ass General asks what's a general supposed to do when the President wants something, there is no integrity left in the leadership of the military.

So when the intelligence+military establishment say 'don't release the photos', I"m really not convinced that the nation's interest is on the top of their mind.

2. Yes, cover ups are the norm. Without committed investigations, nothing changes.
We have not been well served by our Democratic leaders since they took the House in early 2007. It is ironic that Pelosi is now on the grill, because no one has dawdled away power and opportunity like she has the past 28 months. She shied away from any real investigation of a myriad of problems, and now it's her turn to be skewered.

We are not helped by weak, spineless leadership that hopes the bad things will just go away if ignored.
