The top two finishers in each round will advance to the finals, along with the next four highest vote-getters overall.

The preliminary round will run until 9:00 P.M. P.D.T. on May 18th.

I was so struck by the pic of the Capitol, it looked blurry and nebulous and almost disappearing..
which seems to reflect the country at this juncture.
