abortion poll, supreme court nominee, and spike in abortion protests
Just offering this up for discussion, the latest abortion polls by Pew and Gallup show a bizarre turn around.

I will just offer this question up ...is someone or something pouring in money and advice to impact Obama's pick, did someone skew the polls to put pressure on Obama?

The last 8 years under bush not much abortion protests , all of a sudden we got a major protest at Notre Dame...and Randal Terry has come back from the dead even after 8 years of bush and abortion?

???Catholic Church???
???Right Wing Religious Wackos with deep pockets???
both??

1. There's no 'bizarre turn around'. As always, most Americans want government out of their bodies
out of their bedrooms, and out of their pants. As always. One outlier poll from Gallup doth not a "sea change" make, particularly when you get past muddy terminology like "pro-life" (who doesn't like "life", after all?) and to the crux of the issue- where overwhelming numbers of Americans think abortion should remain legal in at least some cases, which is essentially the situation we have under Roe v. Wade.

The right-wing wackos are going batshit because they see Obama him as delaying their long-held fantasy of outlawing abortion, birth control, and non-procreative fucking.

They did the same thing under Clinton-- I've said before that I expect to see violent right-wing extremism, clinic violence, etc. go up under Obama. The crazies are mad, and frustrated.

2. Propaganda needs to be timed with an event for maximum value
The right wing sees Obama'a visit to Notre Dame as the perfect vehicle to maximize their propaganda.

After that visit, they'll move onto something else.

3. They will never move on to something else ever. The desire for controlling people
and self-righteousness will remain their mantra as long as they exist. This will only go away when they do. It will NEVER quit. It is all they have.
