What's really sad is that Jesse Ventura is more aggressive and articulate in his defense of Obama

and in his denunciation of DUH-bya, Elmer and Kind-of-sleezy lice than any of our Senators and Congresspersons are.

Ventura has gone on at least 3 shows this week and shredded the conservatives.

He made hasselback look totally clueless on the View.

Hannity tried sucking up to Ventura as the show began and it made no difference Ventura slammed Bush, laughed at Hannity's attempts at saying the country is better off now than it was 8 years ago, etc.

On Fox and Friends I think he made them all cry

A Democratic Congress sabotaged some of Jimmy Carter's most important proposals(we could have had universal health care in 1978 if they hadn't wimped out and we could have had a welfare policy that kept families together by allowing two-parent households to get public assistance, and we could have had a Consumer Protection Agency that would have made us all much safer from rip-offs)and they sabotaged Bill Clinton(not getting behind his healthcare proposal even when they KNEW that not passing it would cost us both houses in '94).

It's time for these guys to fight as hard for OUR party as the GOP Congressmembers fight for theirs. Those guys work for horrible stuff, but they get it passed because they don't give up. We could learn from that(not on the passing horrible stuff part, the not giving up part).

He referenced the mess that he had been left with courtesy of the worst President ever.

9. The crux of the matter is this..

Democrats simply lack aggressiveness, particularly when it comes to matters of national security, if a Repub just looks at them harshly they roll over, show their bellies and piss all over themselves with fear.

Ventura does not give a flying fuck what anyone else thinks or says and his lack of fear is palpable when compared to practically any Dem I can think of active in politics today with the exceptions of Kucinich and to a lesser extent Obama.

Jesse is also not part of the bought and paid for corporatarchic duopoly so he is free to call 'em like he sees 'em, again with the exception of Kucinich and to a lesser extent Obama the Dems apparently cannot.

The Dems strike me very much like a military unit that is in a combat situation where they have very restrictive Rules Of Engagement, they simply cannot strike back even when fired upon except in certain very limited and mostly ineffective ways. Jesse has *no* ROE so he says exactly what he thinks and his words have a great deal of power for that very reason.

I think Americans hunger for authenticity in their politicians, Jesse is nothing if not authentic so he stands out like a shining beacon among the crowds of inauthentic other pols.

Depending on the situation, different people will have more impact than others. People like Ventura will resonate better with his support because he's not a true Leftie. On the other hand, the Lefties are wise at this juncture, when Obama's polls are already high, to give him a critical review. When Obama starts getting seriously bombarded by the other side, we will all come together to defend him, and no one can complain that we were dittoheads.
