2. I remember watching the speech on TV, probably C Span and crying with relief

at the things he was saying. It was such a sense of relief to feel like there were still some sane people in the world who would get on a stage and speak some truth. I think that speech was a little before The Assualt on Reason came out, which is still a great book.
