An Alternative to Indefinite Detention
One of the things that has puzzled me about the discussions on Guantanamo and other black sites is the assumption that ongoing dentention is the only tool available to keep suspects, many of them innocent, from engaging in terrorism against us. However, one thing that has been done in many countries in the world with persons believed to be engaged in militant anti-government activity is to let them go under some pretext and then keep them under surveillance, so that they will eventually lead authorities to other members of their cells. These days they could probably even plant tiny tracking devices under their skin so that they don't lose them. It seems like this would be a good way to sort out the innocent from the guilty and track down other members of their networks at the same time.

1. Hey, yea! That's a GREAT IDEA!
better yet, let's tattoo the words "property of the US government" on their foreheads, and maybe a detention stamp logo, so that we know which of them has been to which torture chamber.

Or maybe, we can amputate their hands, that way we're sure they can't harm us even if we release them back into the wild....

:sarcasm:

2. If they are guilty of some crime, prove it, try them. If not guilty, let them go.
American Justice 101. What's the problem with that?

Anything else is BullShit.
