Joe Scar Torture discussion - "why are we having all this debate about 3 people being waterboarded"
or close paraphrase.

It's not "just" 3 people being waterboarded. It's a lot wider and broader than that. The MSM and Cheney has successfully concentrated and reduced the whole torture "debate" down to this so that Joe Average says - I don't mind that they poured water on a couple of people. We do it to our own soldiers."

THIS is what releasing the recent pictures would have changed - this obfuscation and dumbing down of what actually happened in multiple places to far more than 3 people.

1. yes
and of course Friedman says "Well, I'm not an expert" in response. And Joe said this RIGHT after saying "Yes, people on BOTH SIDES have been simplying the torture issue." Who are you kidding, Joe, whenever you are losing the torture argument, you go into your sorry ass "I know stuff. I have connections" mode.

2. And, since the Cheneys have succeeded in doing that, they've escalated...
the game to trying to completely discredit Obama and say he's made the country unsafe. There has been a significant shift in that direction in the last 24 hours. That Obama is NOT keeping America safe. Maybe they've been saying it all along, but the M$M is now running with it even more so than torture.

4. Does anybody know if this is true? I keep hearing that the unreleased photos
show images of waterboarding, child rape, sodomy, murder among others. Or are these images of the same abuses we saw in the first release of photos. Anybody know?

9. What does it matter? The new photos would show it wasn't confined to "bad apples" at Abu Grahib
and that torture was systemic under Bush/Cheney and also wasn't confined to the "3" that they are willing to discuss. It sounds like you're saying, Oh, it's just the same old abuse we already saw, yawn.

If those more recent pictures had been released, we wouldn't be having these discussions and Cheney would look like a sadistic ass for trying to continue to promote "enhanced interrogation". His speech would have probably been cancelled due to laryngitis.

6. Without pictures, it never happened. Abu Ghraib was the same way...
Written reports of the abuse was around for months. But it only became news with the release of the photos.

7. i bet if he were one of the 'three' it would be a bigger deal to him.
it doesn't matter if it is ONE person. torture is illegal. our government did it. they should be held accountable. period! if i were to rob a bank, but call it financial reappropriations... and i only did it that one time.... and it's all in the past, let's look forward.... how far would that get me?? would we be 'debating' whether financial reappropriations is legal or not?? NO!! it would be called by the name it is.... bank robbery and my ass would be in a jail. this whole thing is bullshit.

11. I agree, let's talk about rape of children, sodomizing
men with broken light bulbs, dewath by torture and all the other "frat pranks" done by the Bushies.

Oh, and Cheney, saying that torture is a recruiting tool for Islamists is not blaming America--It is blaming you!!!! You want to argue that torture is "effective," then you need to look at the whole picture.

Why aren't the officers all the way up the chain to Mr President in prison?

17. Three people water-boarded is three people too many.
If Joe "how did this dead intern end up in my office" Scarborough can't understand this perhaps he should get some remedial reading classes or something. Apparently the words "torture is illegal" are too difficult to read.
