Milk is a gateway drug to bourbon

In this instance, Rep. Steve Cohen (D-TN) gets Mueller to admit that marijuana has never killed anybody, then smashes into tiny bits the decades-old "gateway drug" argument with a unique analogy of milk and bourbon.

I had a friend in college who had grown up fundangelical, whose first alcoholic drink was milk and vodka. Her theory was that milk was almost a food, and so that made it less of a sin. Kind of like the abstinence-only sorts who think it's not sex if it's anal.

that it's a gateway drug only because to get it you sometimes have to go through shady dealers to get it and these shady dealers sell hard drugs that they want you hooked on. So, in a sense, prohibition makes pot a gateway drug.
