4. True words....he just keeps on.
The way they treated him is almost like the Conservadems are treating us on the heath care and other topics.

8. If you are attending, please pass out this handy info--
You'll have noticed that the Obama health care principles say nothing about a public option. www.1payer.net has some very useful tools to make sure the administration gets the message.

Your faxes are working. Congressional aides and congresspersons who don't support singlepayer yet are begging to be let off the hook. Single payer supporters inside the halls of Congress are saying "Keep up the pressure." They are seeing concrete results.

SinglePayer has moved from being the elephant in the room that no one talks about to being the elephant in the room that EVERYONE talks about. Even Nancy Pelosi has been forced to allow singlepayer congressmen into the 'inner circle' secret discussions of health care reform.

Let Congress hear you. SEND YOUR FREE EFAX:
http://www.1payer.net/campaigns/no-forced-insurance.html

No Forced Insurance.

We Don't Want To Keep Insurance Companies In Business.

We have sent so many faxes to Congress this month that our vendor has increased the fax allotment ten times. That's a lot of faxes. That's also a lot of money. We urgently need your help and your donation to keep going. Even though we have the cheapest service on the planet, we still are spending nearly $700/month just to send your faxes. That is surely going to increase with this fax campaign. We can't shut down fax machines on Capitol Hill without spending this money. We need your help. We need your donation.

9. You do realize that Dean does not advocate for single payer...
He thinks it is unrealistic to try to shut out the insurance companies and won't happen. Single payer would shut them out, and that is not going to happen.

He fears we will not even get a government run option alongside the private options. That public option is what he is working for.

He thinks the only way to get single payer is to get the foot in the door through the government option along with the private ones.

I doubt he would have them arrested, though, like Baucus has.

I just hope people are courteous to him and don't shout him down at these events. After all there is room for both views.

With the power the insurance lobbyists have right now...I agree we will be lucky to even keep Medicare.

10. We won't get any kind of a public option unless we advocate for single payer
If you want to sell your used car for $3000, you'd better ask for at least $5000.

12. But there is becoming a battle between the two which is not good.
It should be working together, but it does not seem to working that way.

Many of the single payer leaders are critical of Dean's leadership on this, though he is actually being practical about it.

13. Practicality is leading with your top demand.
Demand the perfect, and you might wind up with something good.
Demand the good, and you might wind up with something mediocre.
Demand the mediocre, and you are guaranteed to wind up with something that totally sucks.
