So, my feminist 14 year old daughter wears a shirt to school with
the words, "This is what a FEMINIST looks like" on the back. While in the cafeteria a male history teacher, who has a dry sense of humor says to her from behind her upon seeing it, "The problems in this country started with the passage of the 19th amendment."

My daughter wheels around and hushes the entire lunchroom by barking out: "Just because women are the ones with the brains to figure out what went wrong doesn't mean they're to blame for it."

The male teacher couldn't speak a word, and my daughter's female homeroom teacher smirked at the male teacher and giggled.

I've seen her do that kind of stuff more than once. She wrote an essay for a contest the D.A.R. sponsored---anti-war essay, in middle-Ga. I thought to myself that the judges would probably just wince and move on. Damned if she didn't win the thing.

according to the dominant males, women would not have been (and in some cultures still are) "chattel," property, without social or human rights.

24. Overall, I've known far more intelligent, reasonable women than men.
We (men) seem to frequently get caught up in "my dick's bigger than yours" to the exclusion of reason or objectives. It is true that it is cultural rather than biological, but it is prevalent none the less.

Also, the women you mentioned are all in the category of "men with vaginas".

The fourteen-year-old was out of line, though she didn't start it. The teacher, the adult in the situation, was even more in the wrong for deliberately provoking the girl.

I'm inclined to be forgiving of back-and-forth teasing. If you think the teacher was not insulting the teenager, that may let him off the hook.

56. One of my favorite history teachers did similar stuff
He'd regularly rib one student or another on things, not necessarily connected to the subject at hand but that was usually the case, and was pretty good at figuring out which students couldn't deal with it and not doing so around them. He told us straight out that part of the point was to figure out if we knew what we were talking about, and part was to get people to think on their feet more quickly.
