Once again, a female nominee is the target of thinly veiled sexism.
All this Rethug concern that she -- a brilliant, highly experienced Appeals Court judge -- will make judgments based on her "feelings" and "preferences" rather than according to law and logic is classic sexism.

So are the claims that she "bullies" on the bench. What would be considered forthright and no-nonsense on the part of a male judge is considered to be bullying on the part of a woman.

The more things change . . . .

1. The problem is that Obama said he was looking for "empathy" and the RW ran with it
I'm not giving Obama a hard time here. I know what he means by empathy, but the right wing, who have a chronic lack of it, think that empathy is a "girl disease." We just need to remind these slugs that Sotomayor has degrees from Harvard and Princeton. It takes more than feelings to get through those Ivy League institutions if you're not legacy (like Bush).

5. He made her into a human being
Republicans beating up on her because she empathizes with real people is going to backfire on them. People consistently say they want leaders who understand them.

And when they say that a woman who has been judge a ton of years is not qualified or not smart, if that worries you, it does not worry me.

7. I have to say...
...I'm laughing my ass off at these jerks who are trying to say "she's not very smart" -- right, because, you know, anyone can graduate summa cum laude from Princeton, and be an editor of the Yale Law Journal, and serve on the Circuit Court -- it ain't no thang...

Idiots.

They truly are laughable.
