Its' a nice day to imagine gender equality.

To imagine the availability of same sex couples to all the rights and privileges assigned to married couples.

To pretend that millennia of entrenched and indoctrinated gender roles can be dropped like last year's one dollar flip flops.

To assume that after fighting tooth and nail for those flip flops, some folks don't wanna hang on to what they've got.

To forget that up until the Reaganistic 1980's, young couples were cohabitating and drifting away from traditional marriage.

To overlook that the Big Hair, Big Shoulder Pad, Greed Is Good 1980's brought back the Big White Wedding and an industry was reborn.

To skip the part where politics became prurience, principle became spectacle and an MTV'd nation never looked back.

The old timers will talk about Stonewall and the ACTUP arrogance of the present moment adopts the history but somehow wants it both ways:

Anti-establishment behavior with all the goodies and establishment trappings.

Non gender biased treatment in a violently gender biased society.

Who knows! It might even work.

1. I am not hearing equality
between microsoft songsmith and 'real' (er I mean canned studio) music

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AofzLsvTsM0

although at first I thought this was the video to "Underneath the bleachers" by Seymour Butts.

I think you might be in trouble if people here understood you.

2. Some perspective
And if it works, that's all that needs to be understood.

If not, then maybe something else is needed.
