Poll question: Sotomayor's comment.
Much is being made of this comment:
"I would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male who hasn't lived that life."

Obviously, the GOP-controlled media are ignoring the full quote, not to mention the context in which the speech was given.

Which sound bite is pissing the freepers off more?

1. Other: It is all they have!
They have to channel their anger into something.

2. True, they want people to keep their eyes off what they're doing in CA ...
... with the civil rights laws and budget crap going down behind the glare of GOP attention whoring.

3. I sure hope they'd BOTH be able to "reach a better conclusion" together ...
... than either one alone. But maybe that's just me.

:eyes:

5. Good point, which brings up the question of why the GOP always seem to believe ...
... that any court nominee selected by a Democrat will ignore the other members and demand their separate ruling become law especially if it's in conflict with the GOP agenda.

It reminds me a little of how the GOP has convinced their minions that the UN is not made up of member nations, but is a distinct entity--a quasi-rogue global ruler.

They're not exactly the same, but there seems to be something similar in the disingenuous mischaracterization.

4. As a I white man, I think she's right.
Oh gosh, I said it. White men do NOT have a history of making judicially fair decisions in this country.
