Am I missing something? Time and again, the bigots among us are proven to be Republicans (especially the White supremacists). And as is the case all too often, when it comes to race, they lead the way in stupidity. the infighting over the nomination of Sonia Sotomayor is just further proof that ALL they are capable of is pandering to the base, the rest of the Country can go to hell. Which, come to think of it, is OK with me. They have no chance in my lifetime of winning any elections with 21% of the population aligning themselves with the arty of stupid. And anyone of color who sides with the Reich, is just too stoopid for words.

Because it is impossible to prove that something like God DOESN'T exist, the burden of proof falls on the believer--the one making the claim. If someone wishes to use their beliefs about God as evidence in an argument, then it's THEIR job to provide "proof" of their beliefs. I get really tired of people trying to argue that nonbelievers must prove that God DOESN'T exist in order to be listened to. That's bullshit. Prove he DOES. Or better still--I don't even care about 100% Proof, just give me heavy, scientific evidence, the same kind used to justify Cell Theory and Evolution Theory, and THEN I might believe in your God Theory. If God can't even hold up to simple human science, then I find it HIGHLY unlikely that such a thing as a personal God exists. A distant, anonymous, uninvolved, pre-Big Bang "Creator," maybe--in a broad sense, anyway. But a God who has a name, knows my secrets, and is personally concerned with the petty thefts and sex lives of every human being that has EVER lived?? No effing way. That's too preposterous to accept without a boatload of evidence.
