Does the GOP's opposition to imprisoning detainees in the U.S. have anything to do with ...
... union prison guards?

Or any unions?

I know in California he GOP has it in for the prison guard union, I'm just wondering if it hasn't gone nationwide.

Thank you.

1. If their terra frame runs out, it might.
The gop is using anything at their fingertips to thwart any Dem initiative. Good or bad.

3. Only if their leadership tells them.
No, I don't think not wanting to bring prisoners here has anything to do with unions. I think it has to do with legality, and the culpability for those that participated, of what the results of their policies were.

They really want GITMO to be a legal black hole. They aren't going to get that, but out of sight is out of mind in a weird way. At least for the majority of people.

4. They are using fear to turn people against the Democrats.
I think it's that simple. I don't think that there's any motive beyond that.

Fear is what they do. It's worked for them in the past and unfortunately it may work for them now.

6. Discovery
They don't want the defense to know who the CIA informants/agents were that implicated the defendents.

Seems like a basic right to most of us. But the agents/informants are still there and coiuld be subject to retaliation.
