Suggestions for on-line book purchases?
OK, I know Amazon isn't a fave of the DU but can anyone suggest an on-line bookstore? I've tried my locals and they don't have some of the books I want; although they can order it, it would take them a couple of weeks to get it and I'm leaving on vacation next Friday.

I was thinking of the Tattered Cover in Denver. Any other suggestions?

Thanks

2. What's wrong with Amazon? I haven't ordered from there in

10. I encourage everybody to buy off Amazon
Okay, I have an Amazon affiliate store on my blog, but still, Amazon has always treated me well.

5. addall.com isn't a bookstore...
but it searches forty bookstores for you, and shows you the price options, including shipping.

I'm a BIG fan of addall.

8. You could try eBay.
I actually sell books there, and its been great.

You can do a pretty detailed search for condition (and there's lots of new books also), and if you select the "Get it Now" option in your search, it only returns sellers who MUST send the book out in one business day.

12. If you can't buy it locally, Amazon is not all that bad
They employ Americans in their warehouses and in their US shipping hubs and their books come from the same distributors as others. The problem is if a person is buying from them rather than local bookstores. However, if you can't get it local, they're not the worst you could do. YMMV.
