1. I highly doubt it
It's not an "up-to-the-minute" site. Last I looked, it still had a view of where I used to live that was at least 9 years old.

2. Google Earth buys data from an israeli sat company.
they have a constalation of birds that simply slowly cover the whole earth and then start over.

The idea of sat coverage like in Alias or 24 where you fly a sat over to an area of interest simply does not exist.

Sat just follow a predetermined path and take photos of everything underneath them.

7. I didn't know they did that
But for something like the Iran protests, they'd have to take an image at a precise time, which may not be possible due to local cloud cover.

Steve Fosset was missing for months, allowing for a clear view to be made out of many cloudless scans.
