1. I'm betting he won't take a side, BUT...
he WILL condemn the beating and shooting of protestors. I trust him to pull off a perfect balance of being objective, yet harshly condemning the unacceptable response of the Ahmadinejad government to peaceful protests in his speech.

2. I hope this is true.
Condemning the treatment of the protesters isn't taking sides. And the concern that the protesters will be tagged as puppets of the west is frivolous since that's going to be the regime's charge anyway. Ask the protesters if we should abstain from supporting them.

5. Oh! I think it does...at least for the green part of Iran...but Obama saying
too much would be bad because then they would say we were interfering with their elections..
