"I've got a pair, and I'll take them to the White House to make sure single payer is considered"
Eric Massa, (D-NY29) on Schultz' teevee show.

The quote was a gross paraphrase, and Massa qualified what he has a pair of: shoes, arms, legs .... and whatever other pair it might be that Schultz asked about.

Massa also says he has REFUSED to take the healthcare that every other congressman gets. He says if he is going to fight for access to quality healthcare, then he has to stand with the people and not the congress.

1. I don't know thid man, Eric Massa, D-NY....
...but this may be the beginning of a beautiful relationship.
There are precious few in the Democratic Party I still believe in.
I would love to add him to this short list.

7. My friends in Rochester love the guy
He also has very strong labor support and is said to represent them well (all the union guys in his district I know are happy with him).

I actually envy my neighbors very much for the representation they receive. My congressman is useless and does not listen, but rather replies to even snail mail with tired old DLC talking points regarding progressive issues. He likes to ask for money tho..

6. It took him two tries to get there
I met him some years ago and have sent him checks from time to time.

He used to hand reply to every check he gets.

Let me say that again.

He has hand replied to every donor who sent him money. This has necessarily slowed down, but I still get one or two missives a year ...... and I am not in his district ...... or even his state.

5. Unfortunately I live in NY27 - Higgins (DLC)
I thought 29 was in Rochester? I live in Buffalo.

I was at that Town Hall Ed was talking about and EVERYONE advocated single payer. So do all my neighbors. Higgins of course left "his pair" with the DLC so will not give up his health care or support Single Payer.

He ignores all of us constituents that beg to differ. His only true constituents being "corporate persons".

I think he will be an X-congress-critter soon.

I wish I had Rochester's guy, he at least represents those that voted for him.

9. NY-29 is more Southern Tier than Rottenchester ... traditionally a moderate Republican district.
