Former mansion of H&R Block co-founder about to be sold on the courthouse steps
It was the Symphony Designers’ Showhouse in 2006, and for 50 years before that it was the home of H&R Block co-founder Richard Bloch and his wife, Annette.

But now the 83-year-old English Georgian mansion at 6315 Ward Parkway, which in better days was known for its bright blue awnings, is about to go into foreclosure.

SolutionsBank, which lent the current owners $1.1 million in October 2007 to buy the house, recently filed a trustee’s sale notice stating that the loan was in default. It plans to sell the house on the steps of the Jackson County Courthouse on July 2.

“When I drive by it and see it, it breaks my heart,” said Annette Bloch, who and sold the house to a partnership controlled by Michael J. and Sonja Tutera. “I think it’s a blight on the neighborhood. I’m embarrassed it was my house.”

I knew the Bloch kids when I was growing up. Nice family. This is sad.

6. loan in default, current owners probly took the money
and that's the story of risk taking in this great capitalist economy.

nannynannypoohpooh, I have a million dollars and you got ........................................a house in a trustees' sale.

I heard a bit about how taking the money and running was working for a select few. Buddy Johnson, the election supervisor in Hillsborough County Florida (yeah, Florida again) took it to a high level before the scheme unraveled.
