Obama campaigned on delivering health care reform, including a public option
Dems see the writing on the wall: Americans support a public option.

Americans also support Obama: New ABC/WaPo poll: Obama's approval 65%, GOP at lowest

Two and two: Americans believe Obama is doing the right thing, his highest numbers are on health care reform

3. Yes he did
Whether or not our friends in the Black Hole (better known as the US Senate) deliver that, is another matter.

6. I don't care what he campaigned on.
Not supplying a public option is wrong. Actually ducking single payer is wrong.

10. Yep.
Did you reply to my post without thinking? I didn't say he wasn't trying to supply a public option. My point was that a public option isn't going to get the job done. He was right when he said that single payer was what we needed, but wrong to decide not to try for it.

He said a lot of things in the campaign. Everyone running did. Any one of them that won would have to answer for doing what they thought was necessary to win. But regardless of campaign rhetoric, we need a health care plan that really does cover every one, not just some more. And we need to eliminate insurance profits, lobbying costs, and advertising expenses from the equation. Then we wouldn't need to ask how we can afford health care.

11. Not my point.
I don't care that he campaigned on a sub standard health plan. We need better.
