Why is Palin lying about state ethics probes?

http://www.salon.com/opinion/walsh/politics/2009/07/09/palin_lying/

Polling results in the wake of Gov. Sarah Palin's shocking resignation are far less surprising than the move itself: She endeared herself to the Republican base by playing the "liberal media victim" card, but her standing with Independent and Democrats declined. Republicans won't take back the White House with a candidate as polarizing as Palin.

I continue to marvel at the latest installment of Palinpalooza. I'm not a fan, but I have to admit, I've never seen anyone like her: She gave a maudlin speech blaming the national media for attacking her, then decamped for a fishing vacation....with the national media, so she could do more complaining and playing the victim, this time up close and personal with Matt Lauer and Kate Snow. It's hilarious. Is there a word for a hypocrite who's too clueless to realize she's a hypocrite? Brazen will have to do.

I debated GOP strategist Ron Christie on Hardball Wednesday about Palin's national political future. He says it's bright, I believe it's over, as far as national elective office goes; she could make a lot of money as a public speaker or a Fox commentator. Here's the video: http://www.salon.com/opinion/walsh/politics/2009/07/09/palin_lying/

To get ready for the segment I drilled down into reporting on those 15 pesky ethics complaints, the ones she said cost Alaska "millions of dollars." In fact, the Anchorage Daily News reports that the complaints cost the state $286,000, and the most costly set (there were several) had to do with Troopergate, which had exploded before Palin was tapped by Sen. John " Why, God, Why?" McCain. The most costly Troopergate complaint apparently involved one Palin herself made, hoping the investigation would exonerate her.

1. She is eratic and scatterbrained

In a very loud and obnoxious way. That is why she gets so much attention.

Listen to her interviews or news conferences. She makes no sense whatsoever. When the media reacts to this, she reacts back, hence the drama.

There's a reluctance to "put a stake in the ground," to set precedent...
...if Moose Mom sent out an announcement for her latest photo op / "liberal media" rant and the news media stayed home, it would cease to be "news," and she'd fade into obscurity.

Problem is that every time she yells "JUMP" the media's response is "HOW HIGH, SIR?"

2. Why are the talking heads shoving her front and center and
admiring her future as a big money maker? She's a tabloid star, nothing else.

8. She is a money maker
No matter how batshit crazy she is, no matter how stupid she is, the religious right loves her. If there is one thing the religious right is good at, it is throwing their money at the people they love.

3. Must See Video...Joan Really Does A Number On Christie
This dude must be a narsacist or sadist as he loves to show up on all the cable channels and have tne snot kicked out of him. No surprise as he a cheney toadie who is probably earning a nice buck from variuos "think tanks" to play on teevee. Walsh put the facts to him and, as usual, Christie pulls out the "nuclear option"...he goes for the Clenis.

The rushpublicans are having their own love/hate game with Mooselini...creating a bigger rift in what's left of this inept and corrupt party.

10. Has Sarah ever not quit anything?
I mean do we have the complete box scores from her senior year?

Cause she was on the Wasilla City Council. Quit to run for mayor.

She was mayor. Quit to run for Lt. Governor.

Lost the race for Lt. Governor. Got herself appointed to Oil and Gas Conservation Commission. Quit to protest corruption.

Ran for governor and got elected. Quit because . . . well, I haven't been able to decipher this, but apparently quit to avoid the state having to defend frivolous ethics board complaints.

Am I missing something?
