This is some scary stuff folks! I tried to find out which of our Congress critters stayed there, were members, or sought their councel, but so far, the only names mentioned were the ones in the current news(Sanford, Ensign, Coburn).

All I can think of is the relationship of this thinking to the days of Robin Hood when the KINGS owned & ruled everything!

3. I lived in SC & now in Ga. so I know a lot of fundementalist Christians,
but NONE OF THEM are that crazy! I'm going to keep searching to see if I can find other lawmakers linked to this crowd, Rachel mentioned Jim DeMint, and what scared me about that was that a good friend of mine's son is interning with him right now! She's a much more religious person than I am, so I want some kind of proof before I say anything to her about it.

5. Heard him on Thom Hartman, he said that
Chuck Grassley is their go to guy or mouthpiece. I can't remember his exact words. That explains a lot.

6. This whole thing explains a lot! Limpballs always saying that the wealthy deserve everything
they can get. Norquist saying they need to do away with all social programs and let the wealthy handle charity as they see fit! AND Sanford & Ensign both being members and refusing to resign. That group believes that it doesn't matter what bad things you do because YOU ARE CHOSEN!

Let me say it again...THIS SCARES ME TO DEATH!!!!!

7. "Family" probably = dominionists = biblical reconstructionists = christofascists
These are people who we MUST not allow to get into positions of power. EVER.

8. That's why I want to know who they are! Sanford & Ensign were already
considered to be 2012 candidates! Hopefully the more reasonable Americans will never vote for them now!

10. Hillary too?
Mentioned in the piece at the link, here's the original story in Mother Jones:

http://www.motherjones.com/politics/2007/09/hillarys-prayer-hillary-clintons-religion-and-politics

...

Through all of her years in Washington, Clinton has been an active participant in conservative Bible study and prayer circles that are part of a secretive Capitol Hill group known as the Fellowship. Her collaborations with right-wingers such as Senator Sam Brownback (R-Kan.) and former Senator Rick Santorum (R-Pa.) grow in part from that connection. "A lot of evangelicals would see that as just cynical exploitation," says the Reverend Rob Schenck, a former leader of the militant anti-abortion group Operation Rescue who now ministers to decision makers in Washington. "I don't....there is a real good that is infected in people when they are around Jesus talk, and open Bibles, and prayer."

11. Hillary's actions don't indicate she's a member of this crowd.
I suspect she attended the prayer breakfasts for political reasons. Brownback & Santorum however were pretty obvious in their actions and statements.
