Poll question: Wouldn't it be nice if we could stop people from posting about unrec anymore?

Maybe they should get an automatic tombstone if they do it twice in the same day!

I wasn't satisfied with that last poll because I couldn't tell how many people were saying they didn't like the idea, vs. how many were using the poll to make a statement about their support or opposition to the unrecommend function.

The idea was:

Bring back the re-direct page ONLY for unrecommends, thereby making it more time-consuming to unrecommend a thread and hopefully making one pause to consider this action.

23. There are too many people who still are unhappy

to completely give up. I don't think they're gonna get rid of the unrec function, but we can still work towards some kind of mitigation. 36% (at the time of this posting) still in opposition to the unrec function is more than a few "whiners". To me it's a significant percentage given that (a) it's already a done deal and it's been over 5 days, and (b) it was http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=389&topic_id=6021143#6062376">at 36% in Skinner's original thread. It represents a hard core of dissatisfaction with things the way they are - one would expect it to be down to 15% by now. In fact, I just may start doing a weekly poll to see if it stays at this level or not.

31. Hmmm since this is simply an effort to gain information, how could it be failure?

In this case I've determined that so far, at least 32% (or nearly 1 in 3) still oppose "unrec" in its present form, 11 days after its inception. At least one of those who opposes "unrec" didn't like my idea because he doesn't want to see "unrec" stay, period. Those results are good enough for me to refuse to remain silent. If it gets below 25% and stays there I'll probably shut up.
