CNN's hoax on America. video proof, Gulf War 1

This is hard to believe, I'm not sure if it's ever been posted on DU or not but this is crazy. It reportedly aired on CNN as real in 1991 during the Gulf War.

At one point real CNN reporter Charles Jaco puts on a gas mask as a siren is sounding, he takes it off in less tha 30 seconds and says he smelled fumes and felt dizzy.

Jon Stewart really should play this 'news video' on the Daily Show.

1. I watched that live. The Youtube video with the comedic commentary simply doesn't get it.

Saddam WAS launching scuds with poison gas, and in the early days of the conflict, people were scared shitless. The quality of the sound on the Youtube video was crappy so you couldn't hear, but the instant before the reporters ducked off camera there were multiple loud pops. This was the first time most of us heard the Patriot missiles being fired, and it was startling.

Whoever posted that video gets a slap on the back for good comedy but an F for a failed attempt at revision of historical facts.

3. I remember watching the original broadcast of that or a similar event

but the background was different they were on the top of a building because top of buildings are the most safe from scuds. It was also day time, news caster really scared standing next to a retired military person. Camera shot was also further back, could see more of the people.

The news caster, was scared and smelt the jet trail of a patriot missile and freaked. In the original I saw, the guy next to him did not react like military guy in that clip. It was different then that version in that the guy did not put on a helmet or anything.

I don't know what that youtube clip is. But I do remember a similar event. During gulf war people in Israel were worried about chem attack with Scuds, but none were reported on news.

And actually the Patriot defense system did not work as well as it should have. They had to reboot them ever day because of a bug in the timing, and also any hits on scuds did not destroy warhead, but just put more debris in the air. So patriots might work on protecting things like bases, but for civilian targets they were not effective. I think patriot 2 was improved according to news.

Of coarse that comes from memory of many news reports so their could be other facts not shown on news or distortions. But that is not the same video I saw years ago. I even remember having a conversation with GF at the time, commenting on how the reporter lost it.

But I remember a similar event.
