FORT PIERCE - A local man faces nearly 60 felony charges of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon after sheriff's investigators recovered dozens of guns at his home and "bomb shelter," according to an arrest affidavit released today.

Sheriff's investigators executed a search warrant Wednesday at the home of Britt Edward Bailey, 52, in the 100 block of East Midway Road.

Along with a small amount of marijuana, investigators turned up dozens of handguns and rifles and more than 3,000 rounds of ammunition. Nothing about the firearms or ammunition is illegal, but Bailey's status as a convicted felon prohibits him from owning them.

Investigators reportedly recovered the weapons from his home and from what was described in the affidavit as a "bomb shelter."
