Quaker guns
McClellan sat with Army of the Potomac outside of Washington D.C. for months believing he faced a Confederate force three times the size of his own. He called Lincoln a baboon in letters to his wife.
When his pickets scouted the forward batteries of the rebel lines, they found them abandoned. The supposed guns were actually logs. 'Quaker Guns', they called them.
Misleading the enemy as to the strength of an emplacement was an effective delaying tactic.

Quaker guns were used for a long time to deceive. The lies that are spreading about health care, and the supposed protestors are a version of Quaker guns. They make the health care bill appear to be something it isn't, and they expand the number of people who are against health care.

There is an inverse situation too. They make a lot of claims about what the Dems are doing and make people see "guns" or threats where there aren't any. The lies about Obama are part of this. Because of all the lies about him, he appears to have a lot of "guns" that he is willing to use. He isn't one of us so he won't play fair.

We are the majority by a sizeable measure. People should act like it, and bring down the guns. Some will always see them, but that number will grow smaller with effort.
