No tea-bagger disruptors at Pete Seeger's Corn Festival
We just got back from a festival in Beacon, NY that was sponsored by The Sloop Clearwater ( www.clearwater.org ). Pete Seeger and a couple other musicians played some music, and there were over two dozen vendors selling local produce, foods, wine, and various merchandise.
While it was a mostly single payer anti-war crowd, it was also very much a community based event and therefore the whole political spectrum was well represented.
Everyone was very polite and all seemed to have a good time.
It was too bad that Mo Hinchey (NYSCD22) and John Hall (NYSCD19) didn't show up and field health care reform questions. They have both decided not to hold health care forums.
Perhaps community based events like this could be the launching ground for civil discussions.

3. How was Pete doing? He must be 90 years old.
And good idea, why not combine these congressional outreaches with some real entertainment.

4. Glad you had a good time! Several years ago, I used to vend my wares at their
festivals. I work at home now on Sundays and miss all the fun.

As to John Hall, I looked at his site yesterday to see if he had anything scheduled, and no. Just a fundraiser a little later on this month.

:hi:

6. The freepers are afraid of the crowd.. and of Pete...
who's been a true socialist since the olden days...

Gotta stay away from those socialists.. might contaminate
the true believers...
