Never mind the anecdotes: Do Canadians like their health-care system?
Apparently.

"By an overwhelming margin, Canadians prefer the Canadian health care system to the American one. Overall, 82% said they preferred the Canadian system, fully ten times the number who said the American system is superior (8%)....from a Harris-Decima poll (.pdf), July 2009. .

The vast majority of Canadians, 91 per cent, felt that Canada's health care system was better than the United States...CTV, a Canadian television network, Jun. 29 2008, reporting on a survey, conducted by the Strategic Counsel for CTV and The Globe and Mail.

In November 2004, Canadians voted Tommy Douglas, Canada's 'father of Medicare'") the Greatest Canadian of all time following a nationwide contest."... CBC

1. NPR All Things Considered did a great, informative spot on this today.
Completely blew away all of the negative right wing spin. of course, it was preaching to the choir.

6.  Hobbling old Canadians some dragging bodies of ailing loved ones try sneaking
across the border to get US health care. Some pleading for a simple band-aid are denied that one small request. Unceremoniously they are collared by Socialist Custom Officials and tossed into the Niagara Gorge. Detractors summarily eliminated. No evidence remains of diabolical socialist death panels.

11. Well most Canadians have friends and relatives in the States so we hear about.

Canadians are also fairly well informed "Unlike in US, Canada Newspaper Revenues, Readership Remain Strong" states a media marketing site.

Not only are Canucks reading newspapers but they're also watching CNN< MSNBC< FOX< ABC<DAILY SHOW<COLBERT REPORT. So Canadians are aware of what's happening in the U.S. There is interest but it is also almost unavoidable not to know about US issues.

10. I hate anecdotes from either side
You can find horror stories in any system. But I have a friend from Canada who is now a US citizen but keeps his Canadian house (and other things - I don't know all the requirements) for the health care.
