It's time to itemize the taxes on pay stubs - show Pentagon spending
We need to separate out the total cost of the military from the overall Federal tax. The Military tax will then be the biggest number on the pay stub.

When people get their pay stubs they see one big number on the line for Federal Income tax, smaller numbers for State, SS, and health insurance, and a tiny number for Medicare.

When people look at their pay stubs they always wonder why it's so small, then they look at everything under deductions and swear. It's about time they finally figured out what they were really swearing about.

1. Nice idea but it would be an awful headache for the people who do payroll
Better the Feds be forced to itemize it on your tax return. Instead of just one line for your tax liablilty, break it down by category.

2. Why not lines for agriculture, education, debt and all other spending people have opinions on?

5. Looking at that breakdown, it's just sad that science and eduction are so low
And it's sad that people complain about that spending, despite it being tiny.

Also amusing is how the things the right complain about - poverty, the debt, science & education, and most importantly running the actual government - are all considerably smaller than military spending. Fucking nuts.
