Republicans seem to have a winning strategy: Lies and fear
Edited on Wed Aug-19-09 01:15 AM by usregimechange
They need to be called out and, frankly, it is up to us because the Obama Administration (and I love them) is still drinking bipartisan poison cool-aide. So I say we need to call them out ourselves. Write to your local paper and don't be nice.

1. They have a strategy. Whether it's "winning", is another matter. Certainly not elections.
The media, of course, loves to pretend like it's unstoppable, but they also thought John McCain was a shoo-in for President.

7. According to whom? Where are you getting that figure?
I don't buy it. There was 25% or so that still loved Bush at the end of his terms. I think a lot of this so-called "populist anger" is coming from them.

5. I'm not sure where the Pres is coming from, not only current events but history
has shown us what the republican party and the insurance lobby is about. Important for the pres to know you can't take insurance money, deal with paid off politicians like Baucus and deliver good healthcare policy for the people.

6. They use it because it is simple and it does work.
The trouble with the lies and fear being used in the healthcare town hall meetings and debate is that it certainly appears that the bullies and liars are a lot more impassioned and vocal about how they feel about healthcare reform than are those who support it. From the very first of these meetings there never should have been more of the disruptors there than the supporters.

9. Their lies and fear will be forgotten when the US gets a good healthcare bill.
Don't think they've won just because they managed to scare a few people.
