by flaunting it. The best thing to do, IMO, is let the Secret Service watch them, and ignore them. Don't give them the press and attention. It started with he one asshole, and we he made the media rounds, a group organized a demo. The more attention they get(arresting or taking the guns would be a BIG scene) the more there will be.

I just hope no idiot loses their cool and a gun goes off. I could see a chain reaction and several people being killed because of the sheer stupidity of these wackos. What do think this is? The wild west in the 1800's?

At the first incident look how many people on DU were pulling their hair out. I saw comments like "I don't care if it is legal the Police should arrest them" WTF?

Can you imagine the uproar in the media if someone who violated no law was arrested? How much publicity the counter civil rights suit would generate (yes the courts have found violations of the 2nd to be violations of civil rights)?

That was what they were hoping for. The NRA and other well funded groups would sweep in with an army of lawyers. Lots of air time and "proof" Obama is going to take guns.

They wanted an over-reaction but didn't get one (well except on DU :) ).

You cannot apply logic to what they are doing. Some do it simply because they think it makes them tough.
Some do it to compensate for a small caliber penis.
IMHO the majority do it to send a message to that 'Negro' in the White House, they may as well wear their robes too.
