O'Reilly Takes On Jon Stewart
http://crooksandliars.com/david-neiwert/epic-fail-oreilly-tries-counter-stew

Jon Stewart got in his licks at Fox News the other night, accusing them of being "the new liberals" for their, umn, tolerant approach to the town hall health-care protesters.
http://www.thedailyshow.com/watch/wed-august-19-2009/fox-news--the-new-liberals

Stewart caught Bill O'Reilly saying recently:

O'Reilly: When we cover the town-hall meetings, we don't describe the protesters as "loons."

Stewart: Of course you don't describe the protesters as loons! What kind of monster would describe honest Americans voicing their political opinions that way?

O'Reilly: Surveys show many protesters are simply loons.

So last night on The O'Reilly Factor, the Falafel Master offered, by way of excuse, to demonstrate that Stewart had edited out the exculpatory parts of his monologues which made it clear he didn't mean all the protesters. And indeed, on the longer clip, O'Reilly can be heard to say:

O'Reilly: There are the anti-Bush protesters in New York City. While most of these people have been peaceful, more than a thousand have been arrested and surveys show, many protesters are simply loons, calling for the destruction of the American system, calling for retreat in the face of terrorism. Here's a bulletin for you Bush-haters: These protesters are not helping John Kerry.

O'Reilly somehow thinks this demonstrates his innocence:

O'Reilly: We were talking about the arrested protesters.

Actually, no, you weren't, Bill. Look at the transcript: You were talking about the protesters who were surveyed -- and that included all the protesters, not just those who were arrested.

Moreover, no one on the left or among the Democrats that I'm aware of has called all of the town-hall participants "loons." They've been careful to parse out the behavior of the people interested in civilized discourse. When protesters have been characterized as "loons" or some variation thereof, it's been because of their disruptive behavior.

So if BillO's excuse -- that he was just talking about some of the protesters -- is good enough for Bill, why not for everyone else?

But then, we already know that the standards BillO applies to others don't apply to his own august self. That's the real "O'Reilly Factor." them of being "the new liberals" for their, umn, tolerant approach to the town hall health-care protesters.

10. O'Reilly is Pathetic............

Stewart nailed O'Reilly good, what O'Reilly said is that he NEVER calls any protesters loons. So Stewart plays a clip of him from 2004 where he called protesters loons. Then O'Dummy claims Stewart took him out of context, and that he was only talking about the protesters who were arrested.

Earth to O'Dumbass, in context or out of context, you still called them loons you jackass. After you said you NEVER call any protesters loons. Stewart nailed him good and O'Reilly got mad, so he thought he would get him back, when all he did was prove Jon Stewart was right.

What is amazing to me is that a man that stupid actually graduated from Harvard, and I call on the feds to investigate O'Reilly's report cards, lol.

13. not really yes he got a graduate degree from harvard
but it is his undergrad that really counts in this instance. he went to Marist. I am close to the same age as Billo the clown. Marist was a nothing school in the late sixties. Every catholic boy at that time in NY wanted to go to Fordham. He then went on to be a teacher in Miami. He was certainly not a Brianiac.

11. A lot of those "loons" that were arrested at the 2004 RNC
have, in fact, been awarded huge settlements by the City of New York because they were illegally arrested. To date, the city has shelled out more than 8 million dollars in settlement money, and they still have hundreds of lawsuits to go through.

I'll be waiting for O'Lielly to discuss this blatant repression of people's civil liberties and his retraction for falsely labeling them. Somehow I have a hunch I'll be waiting a long time.

He's on the ropes, seems to be floundering, I hope he rides off into oblivion, like Palin, Beck and Coulter.
