Don't Forget: the money we owe is the BUSH DEFICIT
President Obama did not screw up the economy. He's trying to save it. Whatever money we owe is called the BUSH DEFICIT.

1. Reagan blew about 5 trillion, Bush blew about 5 trillion, who is counting.
Now the Republicans are counting and trying to make it appear that Obama is responsible for all the past debt and present deficit.

2. Try not to confuse the freepers with facts - it just gets them angry.
They have a limited capacity for recall - whatever FOX or Boss Limbaugh tells them today is the way things have always been and always will be. That's the case even if it is in direct opposition to what they were told the day before.

And the beauty of it is, most freepers do it WITHOUT HARD DRUGS! Although, to be fair, a large percentage are loaded up on bad beer.

3. Deficits only count if you are a Democrat
Republicans are fiscally conservative! Fox News told me so! Must be true.

5. Republicans don't care about facts. If they did they wouldn't lionize Reagan,
who turned this country into a debtor nation.

6. Cut the crap.
I hate it when the Repugs try to spin everything that goes wrong or might be problematic as the fault of the Democrats.

President Obama and the Democratic Congress have passed a huge deficit ... it's in the news today: $9 trillion over the next ten years.

Deal with the truth -- a trillion-dollar-plus annual deficit this fiscal year is happening on Obama's watch. Why do some Democrats feel like they've got to spin just like the Republicans?

We all know what Bush did ... that's why he is living in virtual disgrace in Houston (or Paraguay or wherever he is).

So, okay, Obama has added to the national debt because that was his plan to save the economy -- just defend the plan if you believe in the plan.

Democrats being Orwellian is just as bad as Republicans being Orwellian. In the long run, speaking plainly and telling the truth will be a better strategy than playing blame games.

7. HUH? the repugs are not interested in truth - that is why we have many problems today
The repugs are already starting to rewrite history by spinning the current problems as Obama problems.

The repugs were blaming Clinton for the economy 7 years into bush's mandate.

i think we're leaving ourselves exposed by not reminding the country that this is BUSH's DEFICIT and we are trying to fix the mess BUSH and the REPUGs left. Unfortunately this is the type of fingerpointing that works.

and why would you call my ideas - CRAP?? that is insulting.

9. Deficits...with an s which add up to Debt.
Bush* with the aid of Republicans added more to the National Debt than all other previous Administrations combined..42 previous Administrations all together could not put as much debt onto our nation as the Republicans under Bush*/Cheney.

10. Didn't the two houses of congress have something or other to do
with some of this - bill writing, legislation passing, seeking presidential signatures, etc?

Surely we can assign at least part of the blame to congressional members, nearly all of whom seeking reelection last November saw success. And in 2010 we will see the same pattern.

Perhaps it is time to pick someone other than "the name you know" during the primaries. Most of the incumbents have had a long career fleecing the American public. Put some new ones in to feather their nests. A redistribution of congressional assets, so to speak.
