Some parents are such MORANS!
They should be thankful their kids are getting a positive message.

Their hair would probably catch on fire if they heard what their kids hear every day and not just in schools. Their

youngins are already having to make decisions about what is right or wrong. They need to teach them to think or their

little darlings will just be sheeple for whatever catches their fancy later. They may " follow the word of whatever"

now, but that doesn't mean they will later.

I wish they could fact check stupidity.

1. I keep imagining these kids being later taken to task for a bad report card or not doing homework...
and retorting, "But Dad, I SHOULDN'T work hard in school! OBAMA says you should work hard in school, so it MUST be wrong!"

2. I hate to call out racism, but I see no other option here
I honestly believe that some people don't want their children to have a black man as a role model (unless he is a sports star)

5. Too easy of an answer
See my other posts on this subject, the really suspect that Obama became President by "Jedi mind tricks", and charisma.

6. agreed, but IMO racism is still at the heart of their distrust
because they can't believe a black man could win without jedi mind tricks

11. They'd have done this if it were President Hillary Clinton
giving that talk, as well. They'd probably have done it with President John Edwards, but for some reason, Southern Democratic Presidents just don't inspire the ire that Northern ones do.

10. My thoughts exactly.
That 20% on the extreme right have a lot in common and racism is just one of them. But it's a big one.

3. The anti-speech folks really are scared of Obama
They simply cannot believe that someone who came from absolute nowhere a mere five years earlier vaulted into the Presidency. They conclude that he did it with some sort of charisma usually only seen in dictatorial regimes that were voted in, rather than imposed by a military coup.

That's where the comparisons with Hitler come from. Adolf Hitler was born in Austria, and became elected chancellor of Germany, that's why the birthers are so eager to insist that President Obama was born in Kenya.

parents for extraordinarily poor judgment, at the very least.

A racist component cannot be ruled out, IMO.

"Anti-intellectualism, not otherwise specified," appears to be a primary diagnosis.

Hey you high school kids out there in districts which ban your hearing President Obama's speech, dig a bit deeper this week and show some healthy rebellion and get on line and listen to every damn syllable of that speech.

If your parents and principal are the ones committing this censorship against your learning, don't tell them you are ignoring their admonishments against the president, listen to him fair and square, as he is speaking to the adults you will become.

9. For kids who don't think much of school, they're likely hoping the
president schedules quite a damn number of more speeches with a view toward prompting their folks to yank them out of school on those days.

For kids who behave more like grown-ups than the fools ordering them to stay home because Barack Obama wants a word with them, thanks for behaving better than your yellow-bellied parents and principals.

Listen respectfully and keep up the good work.
