It looks like Rosie has given up the fight...
http://www.rosie.com/

I can hardly blame her. Lots of people have been speaking out, but for some reason, she has been getting the brunt of the retaliation.

1. What's this crap about Tom Delay trying to get Rosie fired....
....and why isn't that incompetent _____ in jail yet????

3. He's not in jail
for the same reasons that that other incompetent **** is still in the white house. It's the old boy's network working at full bore, and it's just insane.

I'm sorry that Rosie has to give up, though. I don't blame her in the least, but she's right......which is no consolation under the circumstances.

4. Actually, I know why and I think she should.
Obviously dumbass Delay is trying to get her fired for her political opinions, but normal people other than Delay have been angry with her ever since she did that bigoted Asian stereotype imitation.

I hope her ass gets canned now, there's no reason she shouldn't be sensitive enough to understand the pain of bigotry. I can't believe she did it, but I know she did.

7. Did ypou see Rosie's imitation? ...She did a man's voice with an Asian accent.
I can't see her as a bigot, I think she's above that.

9. Excuse me, but doing that imitation was itself bigoted.

13. So if someone uses an Italian accent to depict an Italian in a story..they should be fired?

10. I'll admit to being a Rosie fan, but I'm also half Chinese, and just don't see that as bigotry.
It's all about context. Yes, if she was imitating a Chinese accent in order to make fun or belittle, then yes, it would be offensive. But she was saying how amazing it was for the 'Danny Divito being drunk on The View' story to have made world-wide headlines - with all the really important stuff that is going on. She was doing what comics always do, imitating a foreign accent or cadence of speech. If she had done a Chinese reporter speaking plain English, it wouldn't have been very funny. Personally, I thought it was funny.

I'd love to hear from someone who liked Rosie before this incident, and was offended, because I think most of the people who use this against her didn't like her in the first place.

2. I didn't read it that way

If anything, registering as an independent will make her ability to speak out that much stronger. And she should be having a laugh about DeLay going after her--all she has to do is drag HIS track record through the view. Rosie, you're a neo-con artists' worst nightmare--a level playing field!

8. It'd be a lot easier to read Rosie's blog
if she'd write in complete sentences, use some capital letters and avoid using "text message-ese."

She has some good points to make, but writing them that way gets in the way of what she's trying to say. For me, anyway.

16. Yeah
It's rather like reading the ramblings of an insane fifth-grader as it's structured now.

Grammar exists for a reason.

11. Where in the blog has she given up?
And what did she give up?

I can't tell from the blog, and you weren't terribly clear.

Just asking.

14. Sorry, I thought most people knew that she has always been a very vocal critic of the administration
Here is a quote from her blog today:

"from now on i will not raise my voice
about this criminal administration
i am sick of screaming IMPEACH

unreal
from now on i will say
unreal
ok
just know on the inside
i will be yelling"

18. i cant help but feel
that when people write
in short sentences
w/little punctuation
& lots of abbrevs.
that they r being pretentious
bcuz theyr actin like
they b-leave everything they say
is like a poem
by ee cummings or some1
bcuz its full of
great profundity
and serious
thoughts
when really
if they just
spelled it out
in regular sentences
with capital letters
at the beginning
and .s
at the end
it wouldnt look
half so deep

15. didn't KO or someone on that network report that delay AND the RNC
were officially trying to get her fired.

i think this effort is more official than just a thug like delay wantonly trying to get her.
