It's okay to be imperfect.
Really. It is.

No matter how hard to attempt to fit an ideal, you will not be able to fit it. And I'm glad, because what would the world be if we were all these static drones who did everything just right and who behaved just right in every aspect of our lives. No sexism, no racism, no nothing. No differentiation at all. No one sees culture, no one sees color, or gender, or nationality, or anything. We're all just a big happy family.

Nah, I wouldn't like that at all.

I've been quite amused by DU lately.

1. Since no one is biting.
Let me just tell you how imperfect I am.

I enjoy dark humor. Dead baby jokes are the best. Second only to pedophile jokes. I always keep losing socks. I've accidently called a black person 'boy' before (I call all guys 'boy'). I once told a person their hair was nice and they thought I was being sarcastic. I wasn't. I'm bad at communicating like that.

Farting is funny to me. I belch because I think it's a compliment even though that's probably not true. I can't cut my hair right and always wind up shaving it all off. One day I hope to learn.

I enjoy cursing in foreign languages because of the reactions it elicits. But only to friends (who speak those languages).

I hate everyone for the most part and can probably find something critical about them in every facet of their being. I'm too shy to ever actually note any critical aspects of anyone though (in real life).

I once got pulled over by a cop and ran. I sometimes drink a liter of Vodka in one weekend. I don't consider myself an alcoholic. I smoke ocassionally. I've done every drug you can imagine. I once hit a possum, and an armadillo. I swerved for the squirrel. Damn the list can go on and on. I eat meat. And enjoy it. I sometimes think I'm better than everyone else. I often don't think enough of myself.

I don't think we should leave Iraq until thousands (if not tens of thousands) more of our men die. I'm a terrible person.

I joke about nuking the middle east to solve all our problems. Only I'm not really joking when I joke about it. You have no idea how horrible I am.

I take immesurable pleasure in killing cockroaches. Probably more than I should.

The list could go on but I'm done writing. I'm a bad person. But I guarantee you that anyone reading this is too, in some way or another, via some argumentative means, I could show that even the most high and mighty saints on this forum are just as imperfect as the rest.

Yet we bicker about people being imperfect on a daily basis. Why can't we discuss ISSUES rather than PEOPLE?

you are so wholly inappropriate.. you might check this out..

http://www.wrongplanet.net i have Aspergers Syndrome.. IQ of 164 and am functionally illiterate.

it could explain a lot.. i also have no comprehension what is appropriate in social situations.. i usually just stay away from people...

the other day at work some people were talking and said it is hard to find qualified people.. i said, 'that is why they hired me'.. i am totally right brained and people think i am a comedian when i say totally straight things.. we Non NT's tend to say things oddly literal in a flat monotone voice..

6. But josh?? I do NOT get this line......
"I don't think we should leave Iraq until thousands (if not tens of thousands) more of our men die.
I'm a terrible person."

That line blows my mind!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :wtf:

You are a terrible person for saying that! How could you?

And you even forgot that female soldiers are also dying in Iraq.....

And all the Iraqi's being killed!!!!!!!!!!! Tell me you didn't mean that! Please....clarify.

Tell us you are lit up like the 4th of July and it's a Saturday....

Why would you even think that was okay???

Being fat is one thing but being a warmonger is a whole different ballgame.

You seem to have a great sense of humor, that's why I assumed you were not a freeper.

Maybe I was wrong?? I hope not.....

10. Are you snorting at soldiers dying or
at some underhanded (inside joke) that we all are unaware of?

How about this? To wish for thousands more to die, is a fucking sick fucking 'tude!

Not laughing.

12. I can't imagine anyone on DU saying these things.
I thought the OP was trying to make a point with outrageous statements.

Thus *snort*.

My interpretation of the Op's post may be wrong. If so, I'll apologize. Until then... *snort*

14. Your sarcasm or lack of, is transparent.
It is wrong. You're off base.
Wishing death on anyone is a sic fucking attitude.
If you think that's funny, then I think you're a piece of shit.

You aren't representing as intelligent, just an asshole.

15. I never wished death on anyone.
I took the whole Op as sarcasm. I didn't write it.

Use your ignore function. That's the intelligent thing to do. It certainly beats hysterical outbursts.

I read about this video on a new (to me) very hip blog, I discovered a few days ago.
Anyway...this video was spot on and fits this thread topic to a T!

This video is hilarious at the beginning and spot on about accepting yourself for who you are!
Even if you are naturally skinny? You should watch it. You might learn something. ;)

Hope you don't mind, joshcryer! ;)

So...here it is....

You're amazing. That video makes me want to cry, it's so true.
True beauty has nothing to do with weight, and I admire your
confidence in speaking the truth. Bravo!

THANK YOU!!! I've tried numerous times to tell people who think they are overweight that
a person's physical appearance can't determine the essence of their true personality.
I'm tired of people not being happy with who they are and wasting their time being
depressed or just going on uneccesary diets. I mean I know it's good to maintain health
but it's important to be happy about yourself too, right? Beauty does NOT exist on the
cover of a magazine.

wtfisgoingon (5 hours ago)
Wow, that was truely inspiring and amazing
You're such a strong person and i completely admire you for putting your beliefs and yourself
out there like that... especially all over the internet where people can be most judgemental
while hiding behind their computer screens. I support you 100% i think you are truely beautiful,
and the world would be a much better place if everyone had the self confidence and perspective
on things that you have.

:loveya:

20. I'm not perfect but I'm always trying to get better....
And part of that is trying to see the world through the eyes, as best I can, of someone else, and trying to understand what's hurtful to them, so it can be hurtful to me too.
