CHARLES KEATING presents PERVERSION FOR PROFIT!
DogKnob Present this 1965 classic of paranoid Americana
originally produced by CHARLES KEATING,
THE MOST MORAL MAN IN THE WORLD!

In light of the US Court of Appeals practically turning control of the Internet over to Comcast while everyone is DEEPLY distracted by the Great Health Care Debacle of 2009, we felt it was time to show you fine folks this little gem from producer Charles Keating, whom you might remember from such deeply moral productions as "The Savings & Loan Scandal" (1989), starring John McCain as "The Man with the Slapped Wrist" and Neil Bush as "The Guy Who Daddy Got Off" comes this shocking film that blows... the lid off of the multi-billion dollar porn industry, exposing the dildonic demons responsible for the corruption of our nation's youth: Minorities, Communists and Gays (Oh My!).

Hosted by George Putnam, the KTLA news anchor who inspired Ted Baxter and preceded the KTLA news anchor who inspired Kent Brockman as the voice of KTLA, this deeply probing film goes bed-hopping from girlie-mags to nudist-rags to "physique" publications, leaving no bone unturned (ouch).

(KTLA said they'd pay us for the first part of that last line... they DID!)

NSFW Warning on both of these, folks.

We present this short as a pubic service, free of charge on YouTube, but if you want to watch it in high-quality video in the privacy of your wood-paneled room and avoid sitting through a trailer for the recent DogKnob iRiff of The Trollenberg Terror, you may purchase your very own copy over at RiffTrax.com.

DogKnob, among other things, produces iRiffs, which are videos "riffed" with original audio COMEDY(!) similar to the style of "Mystery Science Theater 3000." RiffTrax is a San Diego company run by former cast members of that show.

Maybe if Comcast owns everything they can rid the Internet of pesky websites like DU, because they will have the legal right to disconnect anyone from the Web for whatever reason they wish, like disagreeing with you and wanting to remove all of the ways that Progressives can communicate, organize and elect Progressives (Ways that everyone seems to be taking for granted right about now).

Then we can all go back and party like it's 1965!

1. Comcast: Kick the Puppy!
Edited on Sun Sep-20-09 06:06 PM by dogknob
Notorious puppy-kicker Comcast is systematically dropping MSNBC from its basic cable service around the country as we speak. You can still watch FOX for cheap, though.

4. TCM and the "need" for parody and satire.
That's great when they show stuff like that. "Blood Freak" is the funniest anti-drug propaganda film I've seen in a while.

"Perversion for Profit" may not "need" a rifftrack, but if we like a film and it is "riffable", we might do it. We mainly promote our stuff to MST3K fans, but I posted here because of the Comcast thing and the fact that while everyone is distracted by the Healthcare struggle, steps are being taken by right-wing media groups to grab control of cable TV and the Internet so that the sort of mass-conversations that got Obama elected and Healthcare on the table can be shut down in the future BEFORE they become effective.

Through comedy, our intent here is to bring people's attention to this issue. The big Repugnican delay and media dog-and-pony show is (quite effectively) holding the progressives' attention while the right very quietly cuts deals to gain control of what gets discussed online and what is and isn't news. If your cable company drops MSNBC and keeps FOX and they're the only game in town, that hurts progressives. If they gain the ability to shut off your access to the Internet for any reason (like being a fan of Rachel Maddow on Facebook), that hurts progressives.

5. This issue DOES seem to be invisible to DU currently...
I don't see any posts on the greatest page regarding this, and this one seems to be sinking fast...
It seems we are being cleverly outflanked here...
