He is a political and military leader, but he is also a pop culture phenomenon. He's like the Prime Minister and Princess Diana rolled into one. I don't even think Kennedy was that popular during his lifetime--can't remember when or if we've ever had a leader like this, but it's only natural that school children would feel the effect and be part of the love train.

I have not been able to verify a specific school where this was done or that it was a school activity.

The latest claim seems to be that it was at a Burlington Township School on June 19. School was out of session by then and the facilities were used by several different organizations. So far, I have identified one dance group that had rehearsals on June 19. A different one had recitals and rehearsals earlier that week and one of their performers has a strong resemblance to the blond kid who seemed to be demonstrating the song and routine at the beginning of the video but who does NOT appear in the rest of it while the kids are singing as a group. Look at the blond kid in the red shirt at 00:11 then go to http://www.home.jaztabal.com/3.html and to Picture 22 "Scrooge, Ignorance and Want" and see if you think it is the same kid.

The school calendar is at http://ems.burltwpsch.org/BrowseEvents.aspx if you want to browse for other activities in the time frame and try to find a performance of the Obama songs.

The thing is, the "gotcha" has to be flipped: You have to think, "Aha, there you are! Gotcha!" If he's not there it makes the video more suspicious and since you think it's suspicious just confirms what you already believe or want to believe. A null result is what your confirmation bias wants, in other words. So to circumvent your confirmation bias you have to go with the opposite assumption and seek to undermine your suspicions. Make sense?

Anyway, the brightly clad youngster runs off to the left side (viewer's perspective). Second from the end, left side, second row. You can see bits of his red shirt before the camera pans right; and then when it pans left and zooms in you can see his shirt and part of his face. It doesn't help that he's light-skinned and blond, directly behind (from the camera's perspective) a blonde girl.

But is he the same kid as in the Scrooge photo that I posted the link to? If he is then the activity may not be a school activity, it may be one that the Jaztabal Dance group is sponsoring since they are scheduled to use the school facilities the week the video is claimed to have been made.

I am just looking for the facts - I have not formed an opinion on the video. What I did find - before the web site for the school was taken down and the website for the district was altered to restrict access to most of their information - was that the schools in that district were not in session on June 19, 2009, the day that is claimed for the production of the video.

Even during summer break, a number of different organizations were using school and district facilities for activities. Look at the calendar for June - http://ems.burltwpsch.org/BrowseEvents.aspx The statement at the top of the June calendar says "School closed does not mean that facilities cannot be used. Facilities are not available on Holidays or the evenings before a holiday."

On one of the web sites, which I cannot find now, there was a comment about video services indicating someone from "Target Video" (if I remember correctly) was making videos for the group and that parents could order videos. Bob Danser of Target Video in Burlington, New Jersey does produce videos for "a wide range of videos for corporations, organizations and individuals in the South Jersey and the Greater Philadelphia area." http://www.targetvideo.com/ Any parent could have gotten a video and posted, then it was copied and re-posted with no attribution - originally the YouTube video had no information about where it was made though it does now. The Target Video quality on their sample videos at their site do seem to be better quality than the one on YouTube, though.

The school where the video was claimed to be made has not responded to requests for information. I wonder if anyone has asked Target Video?

If this video is in fact real I find it hard to believe that it was not done willingly. With all the the crying about the president talking to the school children and all; I find this hard to believe. You know good and well that if this was not done by willing parents and children we would of heard about it months ago. Something just is not right about this.
