I'm thinking we ought to number the pro and anti-gun arguments..

It sure would save a lot of typing every time some kid gets accidentally shot or shoots some one else accidentally.

I'm going by the old joke about the guy who spends his first night in prison and every so often someone will call out a number and everybody laughs uproariously. He finally asks his cellmate what is going on and the cellmate tells him that they have all heard each others jokes so many times they have numbered them to save time and energy.. The punchline is that the new guy calls out a number and nobody makes a sound, he turns to his cellmate and asks what happened, his cellmate says "well, I guess you have to know how to tell them".

Note that this is not a thread about guns per se, just about saving time on the inevitable-as-gravity arguments.

12. I'm reading a work of historical fiction right now..

One of the characters just got sent to the bilge of a ship under attack by pirates to smash old crockery they have saved specifically to load their blunderbusses.. Since he's a Natural Philosopher (the old term for scientist) he's thinking of what size would be most effective and comes up with about 1/2", blunderbusses had a rather large barrel.
